You would like to do some mountaineering and not just rely on luck but with a solid base. Or you would like to bring yourself up to date and to improve your technique. This you can do with me with a varied and versatile training. The Theodulglacier (Zermatt) can be easily reached, about 30 minutes walk from the hut and offers excellent training conditions. The climax will be the climb of the Breithorn 4164 metre, 13325ft on the third day. In the trainings the mountain guide puts a lot of attention on practical work and trying to keep theory as small as possible. The following subjects will be shown:


  • Rope up on glaciers
  • Walking and climbing with crampons
  • Ice axe techniques
  • Anchors in ice and snow
  • Belaing techniques
  • Behaviour on glaciers
  • Most important knots
  • Abseiling with crampons

Programme:
Fri: Equipment check, ascent to the hut, training on the Theodulglacier
Sat: Training on the Theodulglacier.
Sun: Climb of the Breithorn 4164 metres, 13325 ft.
Date:
1. - 3. / 8. - 10. / 15. - 17. June 2012.
Requirements:
Good health and fitness, no vertigo. Stamina to walk up hill for 2 - 3 hours.
Service:
Mountain guide, ropes, karabiners, accommodation with half board in dormitories, without drinks.
Fees:
CHF 610.00.
Enrolment:
4 weeks before training.

The minimum number of climbers is 4, maximum 8. Prices and programme are subject to change.
